The Doomsday Gathering promises a captivating weekend filled with enlightening lectures, interactive workshops, and mesmerising performances by some of the brightest minds and most talented artists in Bizarre Magic.

Doomsday XV latest...

Dr Richard Wiseman

Join psychologist, magician, best-selling author, and member of the Inner Magic Circle Professor Richard Wiseman as he explores the limits of the human mind to prove that we can all achieve more than we think.

Richard has published over 100 academic papers, written several popular psychology books (including The Luck Factor and 59 Seconds) that have sold over 3 million copies worldwide. He is one of the most followed psychologists on X, and has worked with David Copperfield, Penn and Teller, and Derren Brown.

Anthony Charles Heads

Anthony is a professional Mentalist and a Paranormal Illusionist – a Paranormalist. Paranormal Illusion is a mixture of Mentalism, story telling and acting where the performer invites the audience into the unknown and guides them through the experience.

Anthony uses a mixture of genuine psychology and science-based principles about the workings of the mind, together with the magical principles of mental misdirection and illusion in order to create entertainment – the likes of which you have never experienced before.

Tiffany Allen

Named as ‘The New Georgia Wonder’ by Vanish Magazine, Tiffany Allen has dedicated over a decade to reviving an all but forgotten performance from history: The Georgia Wonder Act.

This act, popularised in the late 1800s, features a petite woman seemingly overpowering anyone’s strength, rendering them unable to lift her despite being able to do so moments before. The Georgia Wonder Act gradually faded into obscurity over time until Tiffany, through extensive research spanning libraries, historical records, and oral traditions, gathered enough knowledge to reconstruct the performance.

Andy Morgan

Andy is a US-based magician and mentalist who has performed nationally and internationally. He is a member of the Inner Circle of Bizarre Magick and the prestigious Psychic Entertainer Association.  He was one of the highlighted guest performers at Magic Live in 2024 and has also published an outstanding book on the Tarot!  His show ‘The Discovery of Witchcraft’ illustrates his love of history, magick and theatre!

When not performing magic, Andy is a professor of forensic psychiatry at Yale University and at the University of New Haven. We look forward to welcoming him to Doomsday.

Tom Cassani

Tom is a UK-based performance maker working with choreography, magic and live art. His performances draw on an expanded approach to magic, examining the nature of perception and truth. Using his body as a site of deception, his work explores the construct of performing the impossible. Cassani’s illusory texts, imagery and physicality expose the body as an unreliable measure of truth, and his unique approach reveals the mechanics of trickery, ensuring we stay aware of our own role in experiencing something that isn’t real.

Tom has recently completed a Masters by Research with a focus Examining Body-Based Performance Magic as a Live Art Practice and works internationally as a consultant magician and deception dramaturg for artists of many disciplines.

Prof BC

Professor Brian Corrigan (Prof BC) is an internationally recognised, award-winning magician whose magic has been seen on just about every continent. Three-time winner of the Legion d’Horreur ‘Bizarre Magic Effect of the Year,’ two-time recipient of the Maskelyne prize, and one of only seven honorary lifetime members of the British Society of Mystery Entertainers, Brian is also the senior professor of Renaissance literature at the University of North Georgia and a professional actor who has performed with Katharine Hepburn.

Brian will be presenting his Working Wonder lecture for us at Doomsday this year, as well as being one of our esteemed judges for this year’s Hex Factor.

Past lecturers and performers...

Eva May Nicot

Many in the bizarre community will be aware of Eva’s late husband Roger Nicot and Eva surprised and amazed us all as she called Roger to perform from beyond the veil. We saw Eva make use of possibly the greatest Sefalajia cabinet we’ve ever seen, where a powder puff moved. Then, in a glass moving session, Roger made contact. It was a fitting tribute that Roger would have loved, filled with love and humour.

Andreas Sebring

Andreas split his lecture between a demonstration of his performance style followed by a breakdown of what we had witnessed. We got to see him deliver quick single Tarot card readings as well as his thumb writer in action. Then a one to one reading on the stage demonstrating some inspirational reading techniques through his use of crystals. He discussed his own personal ethics, a little on the use of oracles and a little on the use of intuition and not relying on magicians cold reading techniques. In a short space of time he delivered a lot of valuable information.

Matteo Borrini

Matteo opened the Saturday proceedings with a fascinating talk on prejudice in the Jack the Ripper investigations. Within bizarre magic, we can become a bit blasé about Jack the Ripper as we see so many products and routines released about this subject. However, Matteo did an amazing job shedding new light on an old subject. He delivered the talk in an entertaining fashion and left many messages still relevant today in how crimes are investigated.

Critchlow's Corner

One of the most loved and infamous happenings. No Doomsday Gathering would be complete without Critchlow’s Corner – it’s like a show within a show.

Originated by magical inventor, performer and Doomsday stalwart, the legendary Mr Jim Critchlow, this little sideshow will be in operation in the bar area throughout the weekend and is open to anyone and everyone. Add your name to the blackboard, have a stiff drink, ring the bell and off you go!

It’s not for the faint of heart, though. Don’t believe us? Watch the video to witness ‘The Toe Amputation!’
