What is the Hex Factor?
Not to be confused with an inferior version hosted on national TV, the Hex Factor is bizarre magic’s very own showcase of creative talent.
Each performer is given a 10-minute slot in which to showcase their magic prowess, disturbing talent or anything they feel is suitable for the Doomsday audience. A panel of distinguished judges will give feedback, but ultimately the audience will decide on the best act of the evening by way of a vote.
The performer with the most votes wins the Hex Factor trophy – lovingly crafted each year by our own incredible artist Dan Baines.
The victor will also earn a coveted performance slot at the next Doomsday Gathering along with a pair of complimentary tickets.
To enter, please complete the following form. Places are limited and are on a first-come first-served basis.

Last year's winner
The Curator AKA Paul Temple
Huge contratulations to our Doomsday 14 winner – the Curator.
Assuming the role of The Curator, Paul weaved an amazing story about love and death. Paul played the part beautifully. It was well rehearsed as a piece of theatre, and his timing was perfect bringing the performance to a close in the allotted 10 minutes.
This ghostly story was punctuated with effects utilising smoke, spirit slates and bells and worked without a hitch.
Paul earned himself a designated spot at next year’s Doomsday during the Saturday session. We can’t wait to see what he creates!
