The Doomsday Gathering takes place on 15—16 May 2026 in the United Kingdom in a stunning Grade II-listed building. Formerly the British Rail Training College, its elegant, art deco exterior and distinctive sunken lounge provide the ideal setting for the event.

Derby Conference Centre
The Derby Conference Centre is an easily accessible venue and is conveniently located centrally in the United Kingdom, close to major road and rail networks. It’s also only 11 miles from East Midlands Airport.
The venue has its own accomodation available which includes breakfast. There are 3 single rooms, 37 double rooms, 7 premier rooms and 2 twin rooms. However, they do get booked very quickly for the Doomsday weekend.

The conference centre has up to 300 free car parking spaces on-site for your visit. It also has 14 EV charging points.
Other accomodation
There are many reasonably priced hotels in Derby and also within walking distance of the venue. A few of these have been listed below. Again, we would recommend making a reservation as soon as possible as many of these also get booked quickly for the Doomsday weekend.
Located just a minute’s walk from the train station, this hotel is extremely reasonable and often includes a free breakfast. It’s very popular with Doomsday attendees due to its proximity to the venue.
The following hotels are also located within a few minutes of the venue and offer reasonable rates if booked early.

The Doomsday Gathering is located in the heart of the UK, which makes it easy for international guests to join us with fast links from all major airports and cities.
By Plane
East Midlands Airport connects you to Derby from over 80 destinations worldwide.
Train connections are available from East Midlands Parkway via a Railink shuttle service or the Skylink bus operates every 30 mins 24/7 from just outside the terminal.
Alternatively, there is a wide range of car rental options based at the airport as well as an onsite private taxi service.

If you are arriving from any of the London Airports, Manchester or Birmingham there are frequent and easy rail links to Derby with an average journey time of around 80 minutes.

By Car
Derby is just 15 minutes from the M1 junction 24 and accessible via the A6, A50, A38 and A52.
Derby also benefits from a great range of low cost car parks including the Safest Car Park in the World at Bold Lane, DE1 3NT.
The venue also has a large free car park for guests and visitors.
By Bus
National Express Coaches operate daily to Derby from all four corners of the UK.
By Train
Derby is only 93 minutes from London St Pancras with 35 direct services everyday with East Midlands Trains. Journeys take less than 30 minutes if you are traveling from nearby Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham.

Please read the following information, it will help you orientate yourself when you arrive at the venue.

Arrival and parking
When you arrive at the Conference Centre, please proceed to the hotel reception. If you require on-site parking you’ll need to register your vehicle.
If you have a room reservation, please check in and inform the receptionist that you’re attending the Doomsday Gathering.
Next, to complete registration, head to the sunken lounge area where the dealers are located and you’ll find the registration desk. Once there, please present your e-ticket to one of our Doomsday Gatekeepers who will scan it and provide you with your name tag and lanyard, together with your Doomsday goodie bag.
Registration will begin at 12:00 noon on Friday and the dealers will open at 1pm. Don’t be late!

Food & drink
Food is served all day at the venue in the bar area and there’s a wide variety of fast food outlets and restaurants all within a 5-minute car journey.

Don’t forget, your Doomsday weekend ticket includes a delicious two-course buffet lunch on the Saturday. Vegetarian options will also be available.
You can order food from the venue bar in the evening; however, we recommend placing your order in advance. This can be done at the hotel reception, where they will offer you a time slot.
